I want to be on Team Samurai. Did they bring their swords in the cockpit?

Actually Peter Brock raced this. So probably just Gatling guns and Brownings!

Oh, yeah. The Hino. I knew that car was familiar. Another epic Troutman build. I don’t think it ever actually raced, though. Hmm. Brock and Hino would be another good topic to cover.

I actually don’t know the Peter Brock guy, he was a US-racing god?

No, he wasn’t a god. He was first a designer. He worked at Shelby, and then started his own racing team and drove a little. The team was all Japanese cars, Datsuns and Hinos, but I know he drove a Lotus and something else in NASCAR, I think. I don’t know how successful he was, actually. Kind of an interesting personality. He was also a photographer and writer.

Writer, photographer, designer, racing team owner/manager/driver: still some sort of a god! And BOOM! There’s another topic for you!

Yeah, he’s an interesting one. I know he worked on the Stingray, too. One of his books is about that. He got his hands on a lot of amazing cars. He also has to be one of the first Americans that worked with the Japanese. At least with race cars.
